Resilient Homes

Humanity already has created many ways to deal with extreme heat, although many in the modern world have forgotten or discount them because of air condition.

Long Description

Worldwide, the most vulnerable populations will be the most harmed by climate change because of their relative lack of resources and the locations in which they live. I have spent much of my life alongside, and part of, those in society who have the least resources and they have afforded me a unique viewpoint and understanding of their lives. The tenants of this project are backed by third-party research and an everwidening body of laymen’s and expert opinions on the specific designsThis project can affect a wide range of people by providing affordable, resilient housing that reduces the costs that average households incur over the lifetime of the structure and even greater savings from costs associated with climate change.  Further, this project is designed to support a more comfortable and attractive living arrangement than compared to most affordable housing in the United States Bleveraging technology that has a long history of being used to combat harsh climates and adapting it in a way that makes it more affordable for mass markets, this project requires no special political action, it simply calls for builders and customers to be aware of the advantages and cost savings of the project’s building techniques.  This project is designed as the most economical version acceptable to the average American audience and the design is specifically made to be adapted to meet the needs and affordability of whoever builds it.
