Farms N’ Cities

Farms N’ Cities is a project that comes to unlock the potential of urban agriculture in the city of São Paulo, but is also scalable to other cities and countries. The project aims to trigger a behavior change, by promoting a more immersive, affective and conscious way to relate to food, simplifying the urban agriculture and providing education and information. From the sales of ready-made, on demand, domestic edible gardens with digital cultivation advisory from our app, we will provide another garden to an underprivileged family combined with workshops to help them to develop the culture within their community. Therefore, consolidating a circular and perennial value chain, providing consumer autonomy in all levels of the society.

FARMS N’ CITIES

São Paulo is amongst the 10 most populous cities in the world. Besides being Latin America’s financial center, it has an income distribution extremely unequal. Therefore, climate change concerns are for those who can afford it.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Farms N’ Cities aims to reduce the environmental impact by connecting existing initiatives and communities through a platform that provides ready-made, on demand, personalized, domestic edible gardens and consolidating a circular and perennial value chain.

How it works

The User orders the garden through our platform, which automatically offers the most suitable options according to his profile preferences and space. Through our app, he gets tips and advisory for an effective growth – through push notifications – and will be part of a geolocated network for exchanging experiences.

To each Nº of sold gardens, we will offer one to a Beneficiary from an underprivileged family, who will have cultivation workshops to learn how to develop the garden in his community.

The edible gardens will be put together with the seeds from local, small organic producers, and other initiatives – related to sustainability, production, distribution and nutritional education – will be transparently connected to the system to add knowledge, value and services.

Farms N’ Cities comes to unlock the potential of the urban agriculture and to open the paths to a new mindset and a behavior change, by promoting a more immersive, affective and conscious way to relate to food, stimulating an organic and healthy diet and providing consumer autonomy.
