Make-a-meat

Make-a-meat

Grow your own meat from thin air in bags made of algae. Its easier than filling a balloon.

Long Description

Why
1kg of the following meat produces the following C02 emissions during the farming process*
Beef: 34.6kg / Lamb: 17.4kg / Pork: 6.35kg / Chicken: 4.57kg

Meat production in agriculture is the single biggest food production concern in Europe (and globally) that is not sustainable, highly contributing to climate change. We need to look at a more sustainable and long term way of feeding our meat eaters.

How
By switching from this traditional way of farming, that is causing an unsustainable production line to ‘micro farming’ (grow your own at home), we will reinvent the future of sustainable meat production. But this isn’t just about producing correctly – our concept aims to deliver a higher quality, and tasting, meat product.

What
Make-a-meat is an innovative new product that allows you to easily grow your own meat home. Refillable “meat air” canisters that are filled with everything needed to grow meat fit into a dispenser for your home. The dispenser 3D prints a meat bag (made from algae) whilst simultaneously filling the bag with “meat air” from the canister. Once full, the bags can be left somewhere warm, and after 5 days, there is a tasty piece of meat ready to enjoy. We like ours medium/rare, in a burger.
