Purifliers are specially designed kites which use a photocatalyst to remove pollutants from the air during flight.

Air pollution is the 4^th largest cause of death worldwide, killing 5.5 million people annually with over half of those occurring in Asia.

In countries such as China and India, it has become so terrible that it is officially classed as a national disaster. Governments are trying several different schemes to help lower emissions, but reducing isn’t enough. We need to reverse.

Our aim is to create a way in which we help rectify the situation, but more importantly make it enjoyable, So that EVERYONE, including future generations, will truly want to do their part.

Kites are a huge part of Asian culture, especially within the highest polluting countries.

Tens of millions of kites are flown all around the continent, with thousands of massively popular kite festivals every year being a great a tradition.

We’ve come up with a way to use something simple such as a kite, to help solve Asia’s Air crisis.

Purifliers are specially designed kites, which use Titanium dioxide, a photo-catalyst. This means it simply uses sunlight to convert heavily polluted air into completely safe products, such as water and nitrogen.

Once in flight, the air that passes around and through the puriflyer instantly becomes cleaner. In order to maximise airflow and efficiency, we have opted for a design inspired by nature itself. We have based the 1^st Puriflyer design around the Manta Ray, a filter feeder that is…well….great at filtering.

In order to maximise its impact, we want purifliers to be distributed with maximum involvement and minimal cost. As means of spreading awareness/ promotion, we plan on handing them out at kite festivals and even creating giant purifliers for events such as the Macy’s day parade in NYC.
